UPDATES FROM RYAN
Goodwill Columbus Team,
As we move into November, we have much to celebrate and be thankful for. This month marks a significant milestone in our history – our 85th anniversary! On November 20th, 1939, Reverend Charles Graham opened the first Goodwill location in Columbus on Mt. Vernon Avenue. Not many organizations can say they’ve been around for 85 years. Our longevity and success are a testament to the dedication and hard work of incredible employees like you. Thank you for being the heart and soul of Goodwill Columbus.
Celebrating Extraordinary People
On October 18th, we hosted another fantastic Extraordinary People Luncheon. This event highlighted the remarkable contributions of three outstanding employees: De’Adre, David, and LaTasha. Their stories of dedication and excellence inspire us all. We were honored to have over 350 supporters join us for this celebration, making it a truly memorable occasion. Congratulations to De’Adre, David, and LaTasha for their well-deserved recognition!
Holiday Shopping
As the holiday season approaches, don’t forget to take advantage of your 50% employee discount. It’s a great opportunity to find unique gifts and support our mission. Additionally, as you gather with family and friends for Thanksgiving, please remind them that their donated items to Goodwill help us continue our important work. Every donation makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Thank you for your continued dedication and hard work. Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday and let’s make this November a month to remember as we celebrate our rich history and look forward to a bright future.
Best,
Ryan

New Leader Onboarding “Leading the Goodwill Way”
The New Leader Onboarding Training is a permanent component of leadership training, on the last Wednesday of every month.
The training sessions cover:
- Building inclusion and belonging through empathy and effective communication
- Turning conflicts into opportunities for collaboration
- Ensuring equity in the workplace
- Developing talent to help all employees reach their highest potential
New Leader Onboarding Survey: Recently one of the people who took the New Leader Onboarding Training left this comment when they took the survey, in answer to the question What is one thing you learned that you will use:
“If you understand your team, coach for impact while using values (ICARE) along the way. You can better develop talent, manage conflict, and see what tools are needed to align with the Mission & Vision. Human Capital is your best asset in obtaining goals.”
Each month we would like to feature what you are doing to Lead the Goodwill Way. Send your stories, plans, and activities to [email protected].
