Yesterday, we had the honor of hosting our annual GoodFriends event at the Scioto Country Club. To better share and celebrate the dedication of our mission, we invited the friends of Goodwill Columbus to join us in an evening that highlighted the positive progress we’ve made in uplifting our community.
Ryan Burgess, the President and CEO of Goodwill Columbus, set the tone for the evening by sharing the significant milestones the organization achieved throughout the year. These include the opening of a new retail location, the establishment of several new job training centers, and the unveiling of a new brand video.
Our guest speaker, Ashley Hall, gave us the privilege of hearing her story of perseverance during her enrollment in our Workforce Development’s STNA job training program. As a single mother of two, Ashley unwaveringly pursued her goal of completing her education and obtaining her STNA license, despite the challenges of working full-time and caring for her children. Her story stands as a testament to the power of work, as she successfully completed her education and now works full-time in her field, inspiring her children to follow her lead.
We are immensely grateful to all the guests who joined us in celebrating the transforming power of determination and community support. Our GoodFriends event is more than just an opportunity to showcase our achievements; it serves as a testament to the incredible individuals and partnerships that enable our mission.
As we reflect on this memorable evening, we are reminded that together, we can create lasting change and empower individuals like Ashley to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who joined us in celebrating the spirit of Goodwill Columbus, and we eagerly anticipate continuing our journey to make a positive impact in our community.
