UPDATES FROM RYAN
Goodwill Columbus Team,
As we move into September, we have several exciting updates and celebrations to share with you. This month is packed with opportunities to recognize our incredible team.
National Workforce Development Month
September is National Workforce Development Month, a perfect time to remind everyone of our strategic “2030” goal of equipping 100,000 individuals with the tools to advance economic mobility through the power of work. Our commitment to this goal is unwavering, and we are proud of the progress we’ve made so far by equipping over 85,000 individuals since 2020.
We offer a variety of job training programs across multiple locations in the community, including our centers at Brice Road, Front Street, Clintonville, and Grove City. These facilities and programs are designed to equip individuals with the skills they need to succeed in today’s job market. Let’s continue to support our mission of empowering lives through the power of work.
DSP Appreciation Week – September 8-14
From September 8th to 14th, we celebrate DSP Appreciation Week. Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are truly amazing colleagues, providing essential support and care to those we serve. A heartfelt thank you to all our DSPs for your dedication, compassion, and hard work. You all make me very proud to be a part of Goodwill Columbus.
In September, we are also excited to highlight the opening of our new Work and Community Services (WCS) facility in north Columbus. This new space will allow our WCS DSPs to enhance their ability to provide top-notch services.
National Security Officer Appreciation Week – September 18-24
From September 18th to 24th, we will be celebrating National Security Officer Appreciation Week. Our security team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients’ facilities and everyone within them. I extend my deepest gratitude to our security officers for their vigilance and commitment to keeping us safe. Your work is truly impressive!
Upcoming ADCs in Bexley and New Albany
Lastly, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of new Attended Donation Centers (ADCs) in Bexley and New Albany. These new locations will make it even easier for our community to donate and support our mission. Keep an eye out for more information on the grand openings!
Thank you all for your continued hard work and dedication. It’s going to be a great Fall!
See you soon.
