At Goodwill Columbus, we often discuss how we assist individuals in achieving their “next best,” whether it’s a promotion, acquiring a new skill, or attaining a certification. These benefits, typically shorter-term in nature, are just some of the ways we support our employees.
Now, based on the feedback you provided to us through our Vision survey, we are extending our support to help employees also achieve their long-term goals of greater financial security.
I am truly excited to announce that starting in July, Goodwill will match employee contributions to their 403b accounts. This represents a significant investment by Goodwill for the benefit of our amazing employees. More details will be provided during upcoming information sessions. Please keep an eye out for those dates and don’t hesitate to talk to your manager for more information.
Last week, we were lucky to have General John Harris, the head of Ohio’s National Guard, speak to Goodwill’s management team. He explained that when an organization has strong values and its employees believe in them, they will give their all. He called that “discretionary effort”.
Our values are Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. We’re working hard to make sure these values are part of our everyday work. To help with this, we’ve started a new employee program that lets employees recognize each other for demonstrating these values. Please talk to your manager to find out more about this program.

Notice a co-worker demonstrating an ICARE value? Recognize them with an ICARE Award card that highlights their accomplishment and give them an ICARE pin!
Step 2 – Scan the ICARE Award QR Code for a chance to win prizes!
By scanning the QR code and logging your nominee’s information, they are eligible to win prizes that will be distributed monthly!
Tenure Recognition Ceremony
On May 2nd, Goodwill Columbus recognized the valued members of our team who celebrated 5, 10, 15, 20, & 25 years of service in the first half of 2024. Employees received a certificate of recognition and a gift card to thank them for their hard work and dedication to the Goodwill Columbus mission.
Employees celebrating these tenure milestones in the second half of 2024 will be recognized at the next Management Meeting in October.
