As we begin the first full month of summer, I am excited to share several celebrations and milestones in June that not only signify our growth but also our dedication to the community and our shared ICARE values.
One Year at New Grange Offices: It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since we transitioned from our Edgehill campus. I believe we have adapted quite well to our new organizational footprint. The best aspect of this move is that it has enabled us to expand our reach into more communities by decentralizing our services and making our programs more accessible to individuals.
Recognizing Juneteenth: In the spirit of reflection, we also take a moment to acknowledge Juneteenth on June 19th—a day of great significance in our nation’s history that marked the end of slavery. It represents a pivotal moment of freedom, our pursuit of equality under the law, and ultimately fostering opportunity for all.
Grand Opening of the Grove City Location: We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new Grove City location in July. This multifunctional site embodies every aspect of our mission, featuring a retail store, job training center, and an adult day services hub. The Grove City location is designed to empower individuals through work and to provide essential services to our community.
ICARE Cards: I have made it a habit to carry ICARE cards with me, so I can recognize Goodwill employees who exemplify our ICARE values. I encourage you to use this simple yet impactful method to acknowledge your fellow colleagues. If you need ICARE cards, please be sure to ask your manager.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to Goodwill Columbus and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Best,
Ryan

ICARE Awards: Company-Wide Appreciation & Recognition Program
How it works:
Step 1 – “See Something, Say Something”
Notice a co-worker demonstrating an ICARE value? Recognize them with an ICARE Award card that highlights their accomplishment and give them an ICARE pin!
Step 2 – Scan the ICARE Award QR Code for a chance to win prizes!
By scanning the QR code and logging your nominee’s information, they are eligible to win prizes that will be distributed monthly!
Juneteenth Observance
In 2022, Goodwill added Juneteenth as a paid holiday. This is a reminder that Juneteenth will be observed this year on Wednesday, June 19th. Juneteenth National Independence Day officially became a federal holiday on June 17, 2021.
Business Services schedules are determined by contract site.
Retail stores and Residential Services will both operate with regular hours.
Our administrative office, job training centers and program locations will be closed.
Juneteenth, short for June Nineteenth, celebrates the freedom of enslaved individuals in the United States at the end of the Civil War and is often referred to as the country’s “second independence.” For more information about Juneteenth, visit: juneteenth.com.
