Spring, a season of renewal and fresh starts, has arrived. So, it was fitting that we relaunched our tenure recognition program, honoring those who have dedicated 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and even 35+ years of service to Goodwill. It was a pleasure to spend time with such a remarkable group of dedicated employees, and I look forward to hosting more of these ceremonies in the future.
In addition to our tenure recognition program, we will soon unveil our new ICARE (Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) awards program. This program will honor Goodwill employees who embody and uphold our organizational values. More details will follow soon.
On the topic of our organizational values, I’ve been discussing them a lot with employees. My personal favorite is “respect”. It’s straightforward to show respect and value towards our colleagues, those we serve, and our customers. However, in these polarized times, it can be challenging for many to demonstrate mutual respect. I encourage all of us to rise above societal negativity and foster a culture of respect. Aretha Franklin famously sang about “R-E-S-P-E-C-T”, but what does it mean to you? I invite you to share your thoughts with me at [email protected].
I want to express my gratitude for your responses to our latest Vision survey. We received 570 responses! Since we surpassed our goal of 550 responses, we will conduct the survey only one more time this year. Once we’ve processed the results, I’ll share how we will respond to your feedback.
Lastly, I’m excited to announce that we will be opening a new location in Grove City this summer. This site will be a multi-use facility, featuring a retail store, an adult day services hub, and a job training center. Stay tuned for more details!
As always, I am most grateful for your dedication. See you soon!
