Kate Sturman Gorman, Resident Artist

Kate Sturman Gorman is an illustrator and fiber artist with Bachelor degrees in fine art and English literature. Before coming to the Goodwill Art Studio & Gallery, she served as adjunct faculty at the Columbus College of Art and Design and Otterbein College. Kate continues to work as a residency artist in the Ohio Arts Council Artists in Education Program where she teaches and collaborates with diverse groups of students of all ages. Her art quilts have been exhibited in Quilt National and the Ohio Craft Museum, as well as many other local and national galleries. At the Goodwill Art Studio & Gallery, Kate works as both a leader and collaborator; finding and encouraging the strengths of the individual to create the best possible artwork. Her narrative art skills are an integral part of her personal work as well as the collaborations she creates with other individuals and groups. She has been featured in Quilt National ‘13, Ohio Magazine, Teaching Artist Magazine and Art Quilts of the Midwest. Kate maintains a studio in her home and a website at www.kategorman.net.
