Q. Why should I choose Goodwill Columbus?
A. We have been providing Supported Living Services for ten years
and we are well- established in the community. We also provide services
that other, smaller organizations cannot, such as:
Open office
until midnight, every night

Q. Will you be the ones providing services?
A Trained support staff will provide care, however, we oversee
the overall service delivery.
Q. Do I get to hire my own staff?
A Yes. Currently, we work with some individuals who want to be
very active in the hiring process.
Q. Will I have a consistent staff?
A All staff is permanently assigned. In an emergency situation,
another qualified team member will be there to serve your needs.
Q. What kind of staff do you hire and what kind of training
do you provide?
A. We require our staff to have human relations experience before
working for us. We also provide:
Two week
training about MR/DD & Supported Living
CPR/First
Aid Class & Certification
Delegated
Nursing Course
Shadowing
at various homes with a seasoned supervisor or staff.
Specialized
training specific to individual needs
Q. What is the turnover rate?
A Approximately 3%.
Q. What do you do to retain staff?
A We provide on-going training and we offer competitive pay and
benefits with annual merit pay increases. We also ask our staff
to provide feedback enabling them to be part of the process.
Q. How are services monitored?
A. We have Supported Living Coordinators assigned to each site
and site supervisors at identified sites. These individuals continually
monitor service and satisfaction. Coordinators are required to visit
homes at least 3 times per month and do an evaluation that is reviewed
by the supervisor. We also have a Quality Enhancement team that
regularly reviews service. Annually, we conduct consumer and family
satisfaction surveys.
Q. Who do I contact if I have a concern?
A. Our Management staff is here to work with you through any issue
that you have with your services.
Q. How will my family know what is going on in my home?
A. We encourage you to communicate with your family. Your staff
and supervisor will assist you as needed.
